On the 6th of April 2026, DCI Indonesia has officially inaugurated E2 Surabaya, its newest data center facility and the company's first in Eastern Indonesia. The inauguration marks a significant step in DCI's mission to build a more distributed national data center platform, bringing world-class infrastructure to a region whose digital ecosystem is growing rapidly.

The event was attended by Vice Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak, alongside 130+ enterprise leaders from across Surabaya and Jakarta, representing sectors including Shipping & Logistics, Financial Services, Healthcare, IT Services, and Food & Beverages — reflecting the broad relevance of data center infrastructure across Indonesia's economy.

Addressing the Imbalance

Indonesia's data center capacity has long been concentrated in Jakarta. With E2 now operational, DCI takes a deliberate step toward a more balanced national infrastructure landscape. Surabaya — as the commercial and connectivity hub of Eastern Indonesia — was identified as the right location to anchor that expansion beyond Jakarta.

In his opening remarks, Founder and CEO Toto Sugiri said: " This step is part of the Company's strategy to expand the presence of global-standard data center infrastructure beyond Jakarta. We believe this will  drive a more equitable distribution of national data center capacity. As the digital ecosystem in Eastern Indonesia continues to develop, we see the importance of being present early — delivering capacity and service quality as a foundation to support that growth going forward."

Vice Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak echoed the sentiment: "Data center infrastructure plays a strategic role in strengthening regional competitiveness and unlocking new economic growth opportunities. The presence of E2 Surabaya is expected to further strengthen the technology ecosystem in East Java and Eastern Indonesia."

Built for the Future of Data

E2 Surabaya brings 9 MW of IT capacity to Eastern Indonesia, built to world-class operational standards and equipped to support edge cloud deployments, AI, and mission-critical enterprise applications. The facility also provides geographic redundancy against Jakarta, enabling businesses to diversify risk and strengthen the resilience of their digital operations.

DCI has maintained a zero-downtime track record since it began operations in 2013 — a standard that E2 Surabaya is built to uphold.

Delivered Fast, Built Locally

E2 was delivered greenfield-to-operational in under 12 months, demonstrating DCI's execution capability in bringing new capacity to market efficiently. The project logged over one million safe man-hours and involved broad participation from local workforce and industry across East Java — generating employment, developing technical talent, and creating a meaningful multiplier effect for the regional economy.

With E2 now live, DCI's data center platform spans four locations: Jakarta, Cibitung, Karawang, and Surabaya — forming a stronger, more distributed foundation for Indonesia's national digital infrastructure. And Surabaya is just the beginning.
